Kai Le

Kai began his training the moment he could walk under the enthusiastic teaching of his own father, a trained Latin dancer, back in his native Vietnam. It wasn’t long before Kai discovered Hip Hop and began to hone his own personal improvisational style.

After graduation from UMass Amherst where he majored in English and performing arts, Kai moved to New York City to pursue his dream of creating a career in dance. Kai’s years in NYC found him studying with masters of Hip Hop at both the prestigious Broadway Dance Center and the very stylistic Peridance Center where he also taught his first Hip Hop classes. During this time, he originated, directed and performed regularly with Total Entertainment; wowing audiences throughout the Tri-state area.

With his newfound knowledge and experience, Kai returned to New England where he immediately began teaching. Missing the performance aspect, Kai quickly gathered with some of his oldest friends to create the dance entity known today as 5th Element. Based on the “5 elements of street dancing” (Hip Hop, Housing, Popping Locking and Breaking), 5E’s mission is to provide an open and inspiring environment where street dancers of all ages can learn, create and perform together. 5E makes its home at A Dancer’s Dream in Marblehead where Kai has been a popular teacher. Kai’s Hip Hop classes are full of energy and his signature flair and are open to dancers of all ages.
